So far this year, it seems fair to argue that they are going to challenge at the sharp end of competitions – they’ve won five in six in the league and have made a good start in Europe too.
Certainly, after a busy transfer window that saw Steven Gerrard reshape his squad, Gers fans will be pleased to see such results being produced – though it’s a player who’s been at the club a little while longer winning the plaudits right now.
Ryan Jack has started this season in impressive form. He’s made twelve appearances in all competitions as well as being called up to the Scottish national team – though he left their camp early through injury.
Again, he did well at the weekend in the 4-0 win over St Johnstone and that led him to be selected for the SPFL team of the week, something that has gone down a treat with Bears fans on Twitter.
