da esport bet: The modern era consists of highly-inflated football players who are valued at extortionate amounts of money – especially English talent in the Premier League – but how does each team in the division compare for the most money spent on a single transfer?
da 888casino: Through live games on TV, merit payments, league position and facility fees, the details revealed from the 2018/19 campaign were staggering as £2.45billion was shared among the top-flight clubs.
10 years ago, £80million was enough to purchase the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, but now, that fee is the value for Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire.
Premier League clubs are inheriting serious cash every season and it has opened the door for larger expenditures on players, so who is the club-record transfer for each team and at what price?
Norwich City – Steven Naismith (£8.5m)
The Canaries return to the top-flight following their impressive 94-point promotion campaign last season but their transfer budget is extremely low compared to the other teams in the Premier League.
Naismith has remained their club-record signing for three years, arriving back in 2016 from Everton. Despite a lack of spending, Norwich boss Daniel Farke has assembled a fast-paced, passing outfit and it remains to be seen how equipped they are for the top tier of English football.
Sheffield United – Lys Mousset (£10m)
Another newly-promoted outfit, returning to the top-flight after a 12-year absence. The Blades are currently favourites to be relegated this season and they needed to spend to give themselves a fighting chance; spend they have done.
The club have broken their transfer record three times this summer, highlighting their intentions to solidify their Premier League status. Manager Chris Wilder has made concrete acquisitions so far with Ravel Morrison and Phil Jagielka among those to sign for the Blades and they broke the bank to sign France striker Mousset from Bournemouth for £10m. They needed firepower, and they are hoping that they got it.
Burnley – Chris Wood (£15m)
The Clarets made centre-forward Chris Wood their record transfer back in 2017 for £15m and that was matched last summer with the arrival of Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough for the same fee. Burnley have endured a successful three years in the Premier League since their return in 2016; a seventh-place finish and European football two seasons ago hallmarked their success.
However, since the Europa League achievement, Burnley have flirted with relegation and may need to break their record signing to add some quality into the ranks. Sean Dyche has done an excellent job for the club but they could struggle again this season.
Watford – Andre Gray (£18m)
The Hertfordshire-based club reached the final of the FA Cup last season and finished 11th, demonstrating signs that they could push into the top seven and achieve a Europa League spot but spiralled out towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
The Hornets’ club-record signing is England striker Gray – signing for £18m from Burnley – and manager Javi Gracia may need to break that to assemble the quality and depth required to sustain a top-seven challenge this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion – Leandro Trossard (£18m)
The Seagulls had an enormous fright last season and came close to relegation but finished two points above the drop zone with 36 points. Chris Hughton was removed from his managerial position and replaced by Graham Potter; immediately signing Leandro Trossard from Genk for a club-record transfer worth £18m.
The 24-year-old midfielder arrives on the south-coast to bolster Brighton’s chances of survival, but with the recent departure of Anthony Knockaert, they may need a few more arrivals in preparation for the 2019/20 campaign.
Southampton – Danny Ings (£20m)
Ralph Hassenhuttl took over the reigns of Mark Hughes in December 2018 and gave the Saints a resurgence they needed to avoid the drop. The Austrian manager brought a new philosophy to St Mary’s and is slowly developing the squad he wants to suit his high-pressing style.
Ings was brought to the club this summer on a permanent transfer following his loan-spell last season, signing for £20m and becoming Southampton’s club-record signing. The England striker is full of goals and – if he can stay fit – will demonstrate his quality and give the Saints an outlet going forwards.

Aston Villa – Wesley Moraes (£22.5m)
Villa were promoted to the Premier League following their victory over Derby County in the play-off final – and they haven’t wasted any time splashing some cash. The West Midlands club spent £22.5m to sign Brazil striker Wesley and bolster their chances of survival this season; maybe even further.
Manager Dean Smith inherits an array of talent in the squad already, so spending big is not a necessity to survive. Villa are tipped as the most likely to be successful out of the trio returning to the top-flight and they certainly have a squad capable of remaining in the division.
AFC Bournemouth – Jefferson Lerma (£25m)
The Cherries have solidified their Premier League status over the past few seasons and have been an exciting team to watch. Manager Eddie Howe has kept English talent at the core of his squad, with the likes of Callum Wilson and Joshua King leading the line.
However, they did spend big last summer to bring Lerma to the club for £25m. The Colombia midfielder is still their record transfer signing and Bournemouth are in a good position for the upcoming 2019/20 campaign.
Crystal Palace – Christian Benteke (£27m)
The Eagles have hovered in the Premier League since 2013 and adapted to the top-flight well. However, their record signing dates back to 2016 – a £27m deal for Belgium striker Benteke did not exactly go according to plan.
After scoring 15 league goals on his debut campaign for Palace, Benteke has struggled to impress – netting just four times in the last two seasons. With the recent departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a £50m fee, manager Roy Hodgson has some cash to splash and they could break their club-record transfer this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers – Raul Jimenez (£30m)
Wolves endured a thoroughly successful 2018/19 campaign on their return to the top-flight, achieving a seventh-place finish and reaching the semi-final of the FA Cup. Nuno Espirito Santo has purchased an array of talent since his arrival as manager; Portuguese talent a common theme.
Mexico striker Jimenez was on loan with the club last season, netting 13 times in the Premier League. Wolves made the signing permanent this summer, making him their club-record transfer for £30m. The West Midlands outfit will participate in Europa League action this season and Jimenez could prove to be a valuable asset on the European stage.
