da dobrowin: Man United returned to winning ways in style this afternoon with an impressive 4-0 victory over QPR at Old Trafford.
da pinnacle: It was our first chance to see some of United’s summer signings in action, with the likes of Daley Blind and Falcao both making the headlines on Deadline Day.
And there wasn’t a single Man Untied player that didn’t disappointing, all living up to their transfer fees and justifying Louis Van Gaal’s decision to bring them to Old Trafford.
QPR were truly awful, but you shouldn’t take anything away from a United side who look like they’re finally finding their feet under their new boss.

Angel Di Maria’s performance
When you fork out a British transfer record fee for a player you expect to get your money’s worth. And United look like they’ve got just that in Angel Di Maria.
The Argentine’s first game at Old Trafford was nothing short of incredible, notching his first goal for the club and assisting another. He was by far the best play on the pitch.
If he can keep these performances up then United may just have another legendary No.7 on their hands…
Falcao’s introduction
The much anticipated arrival of Falcao came with just under 30 minutes to play, and he was given a huge reception from the Old Trafford faithful. He didn’t manage to get on the scoresheet, but he was certainly a threat and could’ve got his goal had Robert Green not been spoilsport and blocked his low effort from a rebound. Still, United fans will have been delighted to see him in action and will be confident he’ll be banging in the goals this season.
United’s new boys settling in
It’s a new look Man United and one that most United fans will be loving the look of. The new players at the club have all slotted in nicely and without any issues at all. Daley Blind was calm and collected in the holding midfielder role, while Ander Herrera, Marco Rojo and Angel Di Maria all looked at home in the Premier League. Louis Van Gaal’s signings will have been justified fully with this result.
United’s all round performance
It was like watching the Man United of old. Organised, attacking, lethal. It was a performance we were all so used to seeing when Sir Alex Ferguson was the manager.
And it was a performance worthy of the suggestions that the Red Devils were finally ‘back’ after over a year struggling to come to terms with Fergie’s departure.
Van Gaal got it right tactually and you just get the feeling this win will give his side the encouragement and belief that they can go on and become the feared title favourites they once were.
Daley Blind’s impressive debut
Di Maria was the Man of the Match, but Blind would have also been a worthy winner of the award. The Dutchman’s United debut was brilliant, with him performing the anchorman role with precision and without any trouble whatsoever. And the United fans were extremely impressed with him…
