da fezbet: Southampton defender, Danny Fox has been called up to the Scotland squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belgium. The official Southampton website reports.
da pinnacle: Craig Levein’s squad first face Wales on 12 October, before travelling to Brussels play Belgium on 16th October.
Fox has two caps for his country, picking up his second cap in the 3-1 friendly win over Australia in August and the first occurring nearly three years ago in a 3-0 loss at Wales.
The 26-year-old had expressed his relief at no longer being a “one cap wonder” for Scotland, especially after the defender was seemingly frozen out of the side during his time at Burnley.
But he is now at the forefront of Levein’s plans, as the left-back was also named in the Tartan Army’s squad for the matches against Serbia and Macedonia last month, although he had to pull out due to a groin injury.
Fox has appeared in five of Saints’ six games so far this season, scoring one goal in the 6-1 defeat at Arsenal.
