Manchester City manager Robert Mancini has confirmed the club have turned down approaches for Mario Balotelli this summer and he hopes the strikers form in the European Championships for Italy may help him change his behaviour.
Major European clubs are interested in the 20-year-old striker, but it seems his long term future is in Manchester and even his off the field antics will not affect his game time going into the new campaign.
“There were four or five teams (interested in Balotelli). Not just from Italy also from France,” Mancini said.
“Many important teams wanted him but he’s a top player and I never thought about saying yes to any of them.
“I hope he develops and he had a fantastic Euros but I don’t think he can change his behaviour because he played very well,” he said.
“It can help him because he may understand that he has all this quality, it’s important for him to improve his behaviour around football.”
