da brdice: Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah once again struggled to make impact during his side’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday and looks to be a shadow of the player he was last season, meaning Steve Bruce should look to send him out on loan and then go all out to bring in Everton’s Yannick Bolasie, rated at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, on a temporary basis.
What’s the word, then?
da heads bet: Well, the 30-year-old attacker was one of the Midlands outfit’s key men in their promotion push last term as he scored 14 goals and provided a further five assists by mid-March, but he then failed to score or assist in their final 13 matches of the campaign – including their three play-off fixtures.
That downturn in form has continued into the new season, and while he started at Portman Road at the weekend, he was replaced by Rushian Hepburn-Murphy in the 78th minute having once again struggled to make a positive impression.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail says that Bolasie does not feature in new Everton boss Marco Silva’s plans with a loan move to the Championship looking likely after he failed to secure the move to Burnley that he wanted before the transfer window slammed shut earlier this month.
Why should Villa offload Adomah and sign Bolasie?
While Adomah was unplayable at times during the 2017/18 campaign, he looks to be drained of confidence right now and if Villa are to be pushing for automatic promotion this term they need attacking players that will make a difference on a consistent basis.
Bolasie’s big-money move to Everton may have not worked out – mainly due to injury issues and not being named in the starting XI consistently when he has been fit – he has the pace and skill to scare Championship defences, while he has proven that he can create and score in the past.

There is no doubt that the DR Congo international would be an upgrade on Adomah for Villa at the current time, and they must do everything they can to offload him to allow them to bring Bolasie to Villa Park and ensure they are title contenders this time around, even if the player may need some convincing to drop down a division.
