da bwin: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he cannot say for certain that Philippe Coutinho will still be at the club after the January transfer window, reports Sky Sports.
What’s the word?
da blaze casino: Throughout the summer, the Brazilian was coveted by Barcelona, but the Reds managed to hold firm.
The Catalan giants reportedly had three bids rejected by the Merseyside outfit, despite Coutinho expressing a desire to leave.
With the January window a matter of weeks away, there are rumours that Barcelona could revive their interest.
During a press conference, Klopp was asked what makes him sure that Coutinho will stay beyond the winter period.
According to Sky Sports, the German coach said:
“Nothing, but I don’t think about it. Not one second. I’m not unsure, I’m not sure, I don’t think about it.”
Could Liverpool lose Coutinho next month?
Most of the time, big-name players do not move clubs until the end of the season, but it is not unheard of for high-profile stars to switch homes midway through the campaign.
If Coutinho was keen to seal a transfer in the summer, then the 25-year-old may be tempted if Barca come calling in a few weeks’ time.
It is unclear what is going on behind the scenes, but the Brazilian has knuckled down and is performing well on the pitch.
If he was unhappy at Anfield, we may not be seeing the kind of performances that the playmaker has been producing.
Coutinho has scored six goals and created six assists in his last 10 outings for the Reds.
Given how hard Liverpool fought to keep their star player in the summer, it would seem like a wasted effort if they sell him midway through the season.
