da mrbet: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided a boost to the fans by revealing his transfer plans for the summer are already underway, he told The Liverpool Echo.
What’s the word?
da fezbet: Having got the best out of the Liverpool squad this season and also making some impressive signings, bringing the likes of Joel Matip and Sadio Mane to Anfield last summer, Liverpool fans will be excited about the summer ahead.
The Reds have struggled to compete with their top-six rivals and face a big test to secure a top-four finish, which would come alongside a return to the Champions League, with their squad looking a little short on depth when compared to their domestic rivals.
That’s something Klopp will look to improve upon this summer though, with a number of top-targets already being mentioned by the papers, and the German boss has revealed work has already begun towards summer signings.
What was said?
Speaking to The Liverpool Echo, Klopp discussed his plans this summer and also stated his belief that failing to qualify for the Champions League won’t affect their chances of landing top players.
‘We are in talks with different people – players, agents, all that stuff. Not a lot of decisions have been already made at this point. Why should they at this stage? But we are on the way. At the end I’m sure we will have a really good squad.’
‘We already have a good squad and a few more good players will make it even better. There’s a good base.’
‘I actually don’t think so [that Champions League qualification matters] but we will see. We don’t have to talk about the Champions League now because we are not even qualified.’
‘But of course if we are in the Champions League then it would have an influence. We would need a deeper squad and you have to be prepared for that. No question.’
What do they need?
Liverpool will have work to do this summer as they seek to improve their first-team, with a new left-back likely to be top of Jurgen Klopp’s wish-list as he severely lacks options in this area- although veteran ace James Milner has impressed filling in at this role.
A new goalkeeper could also be a target, with summer signing Loris Karius struggling for form and Simon Mignolet enduring similar problems this season, whilst a star-striker would come in handy given Daniel Sturridge’s continuous problems.
Apart from that, Liverpool will target talented young players, particularly in midfield, and Klopp could raid the Bundesliga for signatures.
