da fazobetai: Even though Real Madrid’s transfer window was far from perfect, one of the critiques that always stood out was their failure to find a suitable replacement for Casemiro.
However, according to a report published by DefensaCentral earlier this week, Los Blancos have finally found their man: N’Golo Kante.
What’s the word, then?
Zinedine Zidane’s search for a player that would adequately reinforce his squad is still on. After reports that the likes of Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen were on the table throughout the summer, a new name popped out of practically nothing.
Kante is someone the world is well aware of and definitely someone who has the skills and the quality to slot right into Los Blancos’ squad and give them that boost. And according to the aforementioned source, Real Madrid and Chelsea actually have an agreement of sorts in place.

If the French World Cup winner becomes available and the Blues actually put him on the market, the Galacticos will be immediately informed about it and will have priority among all the potential buyers in the future.
This reportedly comes as a result of the meeting between the two clubs when negotiating the signing of Eden Hazard.
Chelsea were seemingly impressed by Real Madrid’s good intentions and respect so this is a way of repaying it. If that deal was to go through, needless to say, it would be a massive signing for Zidane.
Casemiro 2.0
Simply put, Real Madrid have a shortage of midfielders in their team. At the moment, only three players are natural central-midfielders with the additional two being able to slot into that role as well. But what’s even more worrying is that only Casemiro is a natural defensive-midfielder in the whole squad.
And taking into consideration how Real Madrid were unlucky with injuries this season, the silver lining actually was in the fact that the Brazilian managed to stay fit because they would have no one else to throw into the fray. They did, however, have Marcos Llorente but he was sold to Atletico Madrid this summer.
With Kante, all of that could potentially change. The Frenchman can play in central and defensive-midfield positions equally well as he is well geared for both the attacking and the defensive roles.
Last season, Kante averaged 2.1 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game in the Premier League. Granted, Casemiro was even better in this department with three tackles and 1.4 interceptions but the difference is not a huge one and can be overlooked, especially when we take the attacking portion into the account.
Not only has Kante scored and assisted four goals last season in the Premier League but he also registered 1.3 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game, as opposed to 0.5 and 0.6 respectively from Casemiro with three goals in La Liga.
If Real Madrid can really get their hands on Kante, it should definitely be a no-brainer.
